Ascension : WARREN LEO APPEAL CHARITY EVENT AT TWO BOATS CLUB
Submitted by The Islander (Islander Editors) 11.03.2010 (Article Archived on 25.03.2010)

On Sunday 21st February ‘Blue Magic’ and ‘Rusty Strings’ entertained a full Two Boats Club in aid of the Warren Leo Appeal.

A great evening was had by all with plenty of fun and good music filling the air late into the night. There are many people to thank, without which the evening would not have been possible.

A big thank you goes to:

The Organiser Brian “Dutch” Lawrence.

Blue Magic – Indy Blue, Barry Francis, Charlie Herne and Billy Minto.  Rusty Strings – Eddie Fowler, Michael George and Alvin Henry.  Phillip Robinson and Talia Herne for entertaining the crowd, and DJ Schmichael Benjamin for finishing off the night in style.

Thanks also go to Delphia Leo and Sam Leo for helping with the preparations for the evening.

A grand total of £501.48 was raised on the night.

Other monies collected around Ascension for the Warren Leo appeal are as follows:

Collections Boxes:                                                                                    £149.23

Auction:

Ascension Island Clock – kindly donated by Amelia Knipe           £100.00

Set of Bowls – kindly donated by Lisa Lawrence                             £  50.00

The total of £800.71 will be transferred into the Fund via the Bank of St.Helena.

On behalf of all those who kindly donated their time and money we wish Warren Leo and his family all the best for the future.
