A hot afternoon greeted the Hashers at Bullocks pond car park, We have been here a lot lately but we expected a new Hash as we had all seen Morganasaurus scale Spoon crater on the other side of the road a couple of weeks ago.  The warnings about rocks: big ones, small ones, medium ones, huge ones etc and the estimated time of 6 hours suggested that this would be a tough one.

As expected the runners headed up spoon crater, fortunately the walkers were allowed to go around it, we all met up on the other side and the on on was in the general direction of the airport.  Unfortunately Mucky Princess lost her footing on the first rocky climb and pulled a large rock on top of her, a nasty bruise and scratches plus a worrying lump was the result.  Luckily Mum and Dad were at hand and wisely decided to take the brave little Hasher for a check up.  I am pleased to report no major damage but it does look painful!

The Hash continued going down following various water courses until we turned left over the lava field and on towards South Red Crater.  A few hashers didn’t make it all the way but most sat at the top of south red admiring the views.  Morganasaurus lead the runners down the crater and then headed straight for what looked like an impenetrable climb up to Mountain Red Hill.  The walkers headed towards the climb hoping Morganasaurus would change direction, he didn’t and it was straight up and up and up all the way back to the road.

After 2 hours (not 6 thank goodness) of good strenuous hashing all except the injured Mucky Princess and her family gathered for the hash business.  The circle of friendship was drawn and two new hashers were welcomed into the fold.  Robyn became Firemint and Ian was re named Cintronella.

It was another great Hash Morganasaurus well done.

Next week: Uncle Fester and Chief LongPole from NASA/Cricket Valley
