Ascension : BIRTHDAY GREETINGS
Submitted by The Islander (Islander Internet Editor) 28.01.2010 (Article Archived on 11.02.2010)

Last Monday evening Tara Lawrence treated her Dad (Dutch) to a very carefully planned surprise birthday party.

He was lured out to the Volcano Club on the pretext that family members would be there for a drink.  During this period food for the party was collected from all locations, drinks had to be brought out of hiding and placed on ice and fifty plus guests were told to hide their vehicles all over Two Boats Village so as not to give a hint that there was anything going on at the Dutch residence. A phone call from the Volcano Club simply said “ON WAY” and the guests were told to hide in the lounge and not to make a sound.

When Dutch opened the door everybody jumped out and shouted “Surprise” and the birthday boy who almost had a heart attack couldn’t speak for at least 20 minutes and that was after he was given a stiff rum and coke.  Tara - thanks for a great party, has your Dad got over the shock yet
