Ascension : Turtle Tours
Submitted by The Islander (Conservation Office) 07.01.2010 (Article Archived on 21.01.2010)

Green Turtle Nesting Season is December – July. You can find out about the Green Turtles of Ascension Island on a guided tour run by Ascension Island Government Conservation Staff.

Green Turtle Nesting Season is December – July. You can find out about the Green Turtles of Ascension Island on a guided tour run by Ascension Island Government Conservation Staff. Visitors are asked to book a tour rather than going to see the turtles on their own.  We advise the public to visit the beaches with a guide, following the correct procedures, in order to reduce the amount of disturbance to the turtles whilst nesting.

Tours are offered every Thursday at 9pm (providing that a tour is booked) – Meet at the Conservation Centre.  Book either at the Conservation Centre (6359) or the Obsidian Hotel (6246) - £8 per person (12yrs and over). Minimum 4 people per tour and maximum 14.
