Fear not, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David s Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
(Luke 2: 10-12)
Christmas in the season that most of us look forward to. For many it is not just about the gifts that we receive it is also the beautiful decorations, coloured lights and the wonder of all the stories that accompany the holiday as we celebrate this festive season with our family and friends.
Christmas reminds us of the very special gift God has given us, the gift of his only Son, Jesus, which is the greatest gift of all.
The Christmas story is one where we are reminded of the great love that God has for us. God choose the shepherds to carry the great news of the birth of his Son which is a further reminder that God values even the poorest among us.
As we come to celebrate this wonderful birth once again let Jesus the centre of our celebrations
May the light of Christ be with you this Christmas and guide you in the coming year.
Canon Clive
