Ascension : Church News

On Monday, 30 November, we celebrated the feast of St. Andrew the Apostle.

ST. ANDREW THE APOSTLE.

On Monday, 30 November, we celebrated the feast of St. Andrew the Apostle.

When Andrew met Jesus for the first time he knew immediately that Jesus was the Saviour. He also knew that he must not keep this information to himself  but to share it right away.  He went quickly to his brother, Simon Peter, and told him we have found the Messiah, and brought him to Jesus.

We know that Andrew, like his brother, was one of the twelve apostles.  He gave up everything he had in his life, his possessions and his work to follow Jesus.

Andrew‘s mission as an Apostle was to spread the gospel and to bring people to Jesus. Men and women are still being called today to continue with the work of spreading the gospel.

When we are called by God to carry on with the work he has set out for us it will be good to respond generously.  St. Andrew was a tireless worker in spreading the gospel and brought many to Jesus.  His is a good example for us to try and follow.

 Have a pleasant week

Canon Clive
