Ascension : ASCENSION MAGISTRATES’ COURT

The following cases were heard in the Magistrates’ Court yesterday:-

The following cases were heard in the Magistrates’ Court yesterday:-

 

ROBERT GEORGE YON, aged 54, of USAF Base, appeared in the Ascension Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 26 November 2009 and pleaded Guilty to charges of Failing to Stop after an Accident and Contravention of the Road Traffic (Ascension) Regulations.

 

The Court heard that the charges arose from an accident which occurred on the Old Mountain Road, on Thursday 1st October 2009.

 

Mr Yon, who was represented by Lay Advocate Mr Johnny Hobson, MBE, was ordered to pay a fine and court costs totalling £100, and compensation totalling £1,089.05.

 

 

ERROL FREDRICK HERNE, aged 48, of Two Boats, appeared in the Ascension Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 26 November 2009 and pleaded Guilty to charges of Driving whilst Over the Prescribed Limit, Criminal Damage and Threatening Behaviour.

 

The Court heard that the charges arose from an incident which occurred at Travellers Hill, during the early hours of Sunday 1st November 2009.

 

Mr Herne, who was represented by Lay Advocate Mr Johnny Hobson, MBE, was ordered to pay a fine and court costs totalling £450, and compensation totalling £5.36.  Mr Herne was also disqualified from driving all classes of vehicles from driving all classes of vehicles for 24 months.
