Requests and help
Please can you save washing up bottles and send them into school for the y3/4 pneumatics work – thank you.

Week 12

23/11/09

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Requests and help

Please can you save washing up bottles and send them into school for the y3/4 pneumatics work – thank you.

We are also looking for a team of parent volunteers to help make animal costumes for the Christmas production.  We’ve seen the costumes you make for parties on island so please don’t be shy and let a member of primary staff know you can help.

Primary Challenge

You may have seen Bella, Bertie and their bear friends around the island lately with the lower school children. In the hall Miss Annalise is building up a display of the places they have visited on island.  To add to this display, please can you bring in a photograph or picture of you on holiday somewhere nice.  Include a little description so that we can add it to the display.  Thank you.  Mrs B.

Sponsored Walk

Congratulations to all the students for completing the walk on Friday.  For some it was a real challenge but the team spirit shown was tremendous and it was great to see and hear the students encouraging each other.

Many thanks to all our parent volunteers Angela Coleman, Angela Francis, Helen Tobin, Debra Green, Sam Leo, Tenika and James from USAF Base, Mike Birkett, Catherine Hiorns, and Lesley Chipp (and any other parents I’ve missed off), Cheryl Anthony.

Well done to the Interserve girls who joined us for the walk all the way from NASA site.  Well done Penny Bennett, Alexia Leo, Claire Rodgers and Anthea Moyce.

The day rounded off with some very welcome staff soakings!  As Tyler was first home from NASA site he got to choose which member of staff was first up in the water stocks.  No surprise that it was me!  The big surprise was that Tyler didn’t want to throw sponges at me and delegated Michael to do it instead!

I understand that there have been some concerns expressed over the safety on some parts of the walk.  I apologise for any concerns caused.  These are being investigated to ensure that any amendments we need to make to the risk assessment take place before we forget them.  If you have a specific concern please let me know.

Football

Apologies but there will be no football after school on Thursday this week for middle school.

Thank you

Each student received an ‘environmentally friendly’ pen last week.  These were donated to school for distribution to the students by Asman Strann of Caribbean Alliance Insurance.

If you have any questions or queries about anything related to school please feel free to contact us at school and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Yours Sincerely,

Soo Matthews

Headteacher
