(Marcella Cocoran, Volunteer Ian Simpson, Asst. CO Olivia Renshaw)

We would like to say a BIG thank you and farewell to Ian Simpson from the Met Office, Ian has been volunteering with us since the beginning of March 2009, volunteering a few days a week, helping with the clearing of vegetation in some areas of Green Mountain for the reintroduction of the endemic plants, the propagation of the endemic plants and replanting them back into the wild, also helping out in the shade houses. Ian has been volunteering on our Invasive Species Project, clearing invasive specie plants from Devil’s Riding School.

It has been a pleasure working with you Ian and we wish you well on your future endeavours.

We would like to welcome Marcella Corcoran from the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew. Marcella has come to work with Matti Niissalo on the Endemic Plants Project for the next two weeks.

We have another batch of David Rabbitts’ DVD on sale here at the Conservation Office – Jewels of the Tropical South Atlantic - £15
