VT Group has a vacancy for a full-time General Maintenance Assistant – (Air-conditioning). The post holder will report to the Transmitter Technician and will be primarily responsible for the efficient, effective maintenance and repair of air-conditioning plant of all VT and it’s customer sites across the Island.

General Maintenance Assistant – (Air-conditioning), Ascension Island
VT Group has a vacancy for a full-time General Maintenance Assistant – (Air-conditioning). The post holder will report to the Transmitter Technician and will be primarily responsible for the efficient, effective maintenance and repair of air-conditioning plant of all VT and it’s customer sites across the Island. Other duties will include maintenance and repair of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
This post is offered initially on a single status three-month probationary contract basis and will be extended to a one-year single or two-year accompanied status contract, with bungalow accommodation, subject to satisfactory probationary performance. Any offer of employment will be conditional on passing a medical and obtaining relevant security clearances.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:-
• Certification/Experience of air conditioning maintenance & repair.
• Electrician’s qualification.
• Experience in use and operation of hand, power tools and workshop machinery.
• Knowledge of safe working practices and procedures.
• Industrious, proactive and capable of working to a high standard.
• Able to prioritise tasks and work without supervision.
• Developed computer/keyboard skills.
• Full driving licence.
