The following cases were heard in the Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 8th October 2009:-
NIGEL STUART PETERS, aged 37, pleaded guilty to charges of cultivating and possessing a controlled drug.
The Court heard that the charges arose from incidents which occurred between 2nd August and 13th September 2009.
Mr Peters, who was represented by Lay Advocate, Mrs Georgina Benjamin was convicted and sentenced to 16 months imprisonment.
CHRISTOPHER JAMES LAWRENCE, aged 37, pleaded guilty to charges of driving with excess alcohol and dangerous driving.
The Court heard that the charges arose from an accident which occurred on the Gannet Road, Georgetown, on Thursday 3rd September 2009.
Mr Lawrence, who was represented by Lay Advocate, Mr Lawson Henry was convicted and ordered to pay a fine and costs totalling £285, and sentenced to 2 months imprisonment suspended for 1 year. He was disqualified from driving for 18 months.
