Past week’s Weather
UK High pressure over the southeast of the UK at the beginning and end of the week kept the weather here settled, dry and warm with just a short period of rain on Friday. The Northwest of the UK on the other hand experienced low pressure, strong winds and heavy rainfall e.g. Anglesey received 38.7mm of rain.
Falklands The Falklands started the week with low pressure bringing cold southerly winds and wintry showers. By Wednesday high pressure was making its self felt with drier brighter weather and lighter winds. Winds then turned into the North for the weekend driving strong winds, rain and low cloud south across the islands.
Ascension A pretty windy, showery start to the week with chilly gusty winds reaching 35 mph at times on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday and Friday cheered up with only a few early morning light showers. Then the weekend was pretty good with temperatures topping 28 in all areas.
St. Helena A promising start on Monday and Tuesday but it all went down hill as frequent showers and cool winds affected the Island on Wednesday and Thursday. A really cool day on Friday with highs near 16 degrees at the weather station. Then sunny periods and only light showers on Saturday and Sunday with temperatures recovering to nearly 19 degrees.
