Ascension : Georgetown Hospital
Submitted by The Islander (Islander Internet Editor) 06.08.2009 (Article Archived on 20.08.2009)

Refurbishment and Air-conditioning

Refurbishment of both windows and doors within the Male and Female Ward at Georgetown Hospital (photographed below) were completed by the New Works and Maintenance Section on Wednesday 29th July 2009; to compliment the newly installed air conditioning and electrical alterations which were carried out by the Building Services Section.

The former louver glass pane windows and wooden doors were replaced with PVC.  The doorways have now also been conveniently widened.  Having air conditioning in both Wards now enables improved comfort for inpatients attending Georgetown Hospital.

Hospital staff are very impressed with the new upgrades provided.  An official handover was made by the Acting Director of Technical Services, Mr Alex Gordon on Monday 3rd August 2009, to Doctor’s Alex Wonner and Milenko Gradinski. Both Doctors expressed their thanks and appreciation to AIG’s multi-skilled craftsmen for all their hard work that was put into completing the project’s excellent standard of finish.
