Ascension : News From St Mary's Church
Submitted by The Islander (Clive & Jenny Duncan) 25.06.2009 (Article Archived on 09.07.2009)

The disciples were so much looking forward to enjoy a well earned break from the crowds.

But their hopes were short lived as they were crossing the lake when a gale began to blow.  They strived to cope on their own but it proved too much for them and called on Jesus, who was asleep in the boat, for help.

When we encounter a bad situation of one kind or another and feel unable to cope with it, we can turn to Jesus just like the disciples did.  They needed his help and asked for it.  Jesus is always there for us, his help is available to us, all we have to do is ask   With his help we will get through the difficulties we are facing.

Have a pleasant week.

Canon Clive
