Ascension : News From St Mary's Church
Submitted by The Islander (Clive & Jenny Duncan) 11.06.2009 (Article Archived on 25.06.2009)

When we are asked to organise an event it is not unusual to start to worry as the date draws near.

Out comes the check list, ticking off this and that to satisfy our selves that nothing has been left out and every thing is in place.

My first year serving as a member on the Ascension Day Fair was not an easy one for me.    One time we were discussing the programme someone told me not to worry it will all come together on the day.

We know how difficult it is to stop worrying when we find ourselves in difficult situations and things are not going right for us.  We can of course talk to someone else, a close friend or neighbour about it, but all too often we forget about the one who is always there and cares for us and this is God.  God is our Father and will listen to us whenever we call on him.

Have a pleasant and enjoyable week.

Canon Clive.
