A fine week for the airhead with broken cloud and sunny spells but only a few kilometres away at Travellers it was different story. Here heavy showers on most nights helped produce over an inch or rainfall. |

ST. HELENA: |
A showery week with occasional broken cloud. Showers were recorded on every day apart from Tuesday. |
|
|
UK: |

As detailed last week by Two Boats School: Friday 5th June was World Environment Day (WED). Here are a few facts on which to ponder
1. A photocopier left on standby overnight wastes enough energy to make 30 cups of tea.
2. A computer screen left on overnight for a year creates enough CO2 to fill a double-decker bus.
3. A fridge door left open for 30 minutes a day wastes enough energy in a year to power a lighthouse for nearly 4 days.
4. Washing clothes at 30 °C instead of 60 °C can use around 40% less electricity.
5. 85% of electricity used by a VCR is consumed while not actually in use.Climate facts and predictions
1. The 17 warmest years have all occurred in the last 20 years.
2. Global average temperature has risen by more than 0.7 °C over the last 100 years.
If we do nothing the global average temperature will increase by 2 to 3 °C this century
