Biological Diversity is the array of life on earth it comprises the changeability within species, among species, and of ecosystems.  Sustaining biodiversity in the face of increasing human impact is one of the greatest challenges of the modern era.

For the first time an International Invasive Species Conference will be on Ascension Island from Thursday 14th May to Tuesday 19th May 2009.  Delegates from around the world including the Falklands, St Helena, United Kingdom and New Zealand will attend.

Delegates will discuss development plans, and managements strategies, for the rehabilitation and restoration of degraded ecosystems and the recovery of threatened species, and how to prevent the introduction of, control or eradiate alien species which threatens eco systems, habitats of native species.
