Ascension : From St Mary's Church
Submitted by The Islander (Clive & Jenny Duncan) 30.04.2009 (Article Archived on 14.05.2009)

ST. LUKE’S GOSPEL 24: 35-48 - The startled disciples took some convincing that Jesus was real and risen. When he stood among them they thought they were seeing a ghost.

Jesus went through great lengths to prove to them that he was truly risen by inviting the disciples to look at his hands and feet and to touch him.  In addition he gave them another opportunity to prove for themselves that he was risen when they gave him food to eat.

I believe that there are moments when we too are just like the disciples.  Unless we can see with our own eyes we won’t believe.

Have a pleasant and enjoyable week.

Canon Clive.
