Where were you born?

Him: at 0406 in sight of a brewery.

Her: almost in the back of an ambulance en route to Wakefield Hospital

How old do you feel?

Him: 19, as old as the woman I wake up next to.

Her: 19: not a day older than when I started going out with my husband.

What is your favourite spot on Ascension Island?

Him: anywhere wet

Her: any spot where I can see the sea.

Do you have an ambition?

Him: to see my wife and children happy.

Her: to always be an understanding, caring, loving mother.

What is your favourite meal?

Him: a ham sandwich

Her: meatballs

What irritates or bothers you?

Him: being late

Her: people leaving the toilet seat up.

What was on your school report?

Him: “his mind tends to wander”

Her: “she always tries hard”

How long have you been on Ascension Island?

Him: 3 years in July

Her: the same

What has been your proudest moment so far?

Him: hearing my son tell the teacher, who asked, “what is on the clock?” in assembly say, “time is on the clock!”

Her: initially getting my Diploma in Hotel management and then finding management jobs wherever we have lived.  Later it was finding out that I was pregnant with my first baby.

How would you describe yourself?

Him: tenacious

Her: Bubbly, caring, sharing, and an achiever.

Do you have a trademark phrase or attribute?

Him: “this, that and the other”

Her: not talking!

What is your favourite colour?

Him: blue

Her: purple.
