Ascension : Leisure/Entertainment for Ascension Island’s Youth
Submitted by The Islander (Soo Matthews) 02.04.2009 (Article Archived on 16.04.2009)

Year 7 were asked to give their views on the present leisure/entertainment available for youngsters on Ascension Island and also what they would like to see/do to improve it, if given the opportunity.

Some of the leisure and entertainment activities available for the youth on Ascension at the moment is good, like Taekwondo classes…………………..

I do not think that the skate park is good

because the gravel prevents the boards from moving properly..

I don’t think there is enough for the youth

 of Ascension. The skateboard park

 is very disappointing ……………

There isn’t enough to do on Ascension for children.   There is only a park, skate park and football field.  The park is boring to older  children…

I think that there is enough entertainment for us because there are parks at Two Boats and Georgetown as well as the skate park……………...
