ASCENSION: Quite a wet spell of weather occurred mid-week with around 27 mm recorded at Travellers Hill over Tuesday and Wednesday. The Island Government announced that Elliot’s & Rupert’s paths on Green Mountain had been affected by landslips and fallen trees and would remain closed until further notice.  Despite the rain, it was a warm week – a top temperature of 33°C was recorded at Georgetown.

ST. HELENA: A pleasant week on St Helena last week with 48 hours of bright sun being reported and a top temperature of 25° Celsius on the 6th.  It was also quite a dry week with only 5.8 mm being recorded with the bulk of this falling over last weekend.

UK: A typical early March week of sunshine and showers – showers wintry at times over Scotland and also more prolonged than elsewhere. It became wet and windy everywhere over the weekend though the wettest day of the week for Brize Norton was Tuesday

Falklands: A pleasant autumnal week for the Falklands with temperatures making double figures every day – top temperature of 19°C last Saturday. Quite a sunny week too – with a total of 39 hours of bright sun. Relatively dry with a preponderance of west and north-westerly winds bringing benign conditions from the South American continent.
