ASCENSION: Old weather saying: “When clouds appear like rocks and towers, earth will be refreshed with showers”. Well there certainly was a bit more Cumulus Mediocris (as we meteorologists like to put it) over the island the past week. This produced a few heavy showers over Green Mountain and Travellers Hill, although business as usual at the Airhead with a mere 1.9 mm.

ST. HELENA: Not too much in the way of Cumulus Mediocris troubling St Helena last week. Apart from a few showers on Monday and Tuesday, it stayed dry with sunny spells, a decent 53.5 hours of sunshine being measured by Marcos the Met Man

UK: Pressure remained high across southern and southwestern parts, although weak fronts gave a little rain in places, and with a few early mist or fog patches where the cloud broke. Fronts were more active over Northern areas, with more general cloud and rain at times

FALKLANDS: Now we’re talking real weather, with a deep low giving gales and outbreaks of rain on Monday 16th. Weather systems then skirted to the north through the week but still bringing rain at times, before reverting to their normal track across the islands by Saturday.
