What would we do without friends?  When we read the story of the paralytic it is there for us to see what friendship is all about and the benefits it can bring in changing the life of a person.

The four men who brought their friend to Jesus had strong faith and knew that he would be healed.  But their chances of getting near to Jesus were hampered because of the large crowd, attracted by his miracles and flocked to be healed, blocked the entrance.

Because of their love and care they had for their friend we see how they displayed their determination to get him into Jesus presence by removing the roof to make an opening to lower the stretcher and the paralytic next to Jesus to be healed.

It must have been good for the four men to see their efforts rewarded when their friend walked out carrying his stretcher.

We all need friends who are always there to love and care for us when needed.  Without love and care from his friends, the paralytic would not have got near to Jesus for the healing he needed that would to change his life.

Have a pleasant and enjoyable week.

Canon Clive.
