Ascension : Two Boats School - Week 20 16/02/09
Submitted by The Islander (Soo Matthews) 19.02.2009 (Article Archived on 05.03.2009)

Dear Parents/Guardians, Valentine Disco. It was a joy to see all the students having a great time on Friday at the Valentine/Goth Disco.

The hall looked stunning, the food was delicious, the music rocking, the outfits ranged from casual to dead posh and the smiles told the story of how much fun everyone had.

There are lots of thank yous for everyone who was involved in this event –

School council for having the idea

Mrs Linda Yon and Mrs Andrews for making it happen

The staff for organising and supervising the students making the decorations then decorating the hall

Mr Duncan, Mrs Andrews and Raymond for sorting out the lights

Smudge for the loan of the music gear

Franki for the loan of her disco lights

Mrs Owen for getting the burgers etc

Mrs Yon, Miss Benjamin, Mrs Owen, Mrs Birkett, Mrs Grey for all the cooking – ably assisted by the students themselves

Mr Duncan for taking some gorgeous photos

Sue Francis for helping with raffle tickets.

Everyone who donated prizes for the raffle and most especially Mrs Eileen Leo for the stunning cake

Raymond for the transport (all 6 trips in total!)

Tavie for the posters, tickets and shopping

All the school staff for helping out on the night

DJs - Schmichael, Dane, Jonah

All the staff who helped out in lots of other ways and helped tidy up at the end of the night and on Monday morning

The final thank you must go to the students themselves who were a credit to themselves and school and behaved brilliantly.

Photos

Mr Duncan took loads of great photos and to make it even more special we are going to print out contact sheets so that students can see which photos they would like to buy.

Middle School

Design a nesting box for a bird or animal that you would like to have living in your garden. Draw out your design, and explain how you would make your nesting box.

If you have any questions or queries about anything related to the start of the school year please feel free to contact us at school and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Yours Sincerely,
