ASCENSION: A few showers around the middle of last week but most of these did their usual trick and missed Georgetown – affecting Green Mountain and Travellers with only light showers skirting the Air Base.

ST. HELENA: Dry and bright for Monday and Tuesday but then light showers affected the Island for the remainder of the week. Only Friday got away with a dry day.

UK: A pretty unsettled week once again – it started mild and wet but turned cold at the end of the week with snow falling across a good deal of the Southeast by Monday Morning.

FALKLANDS: A generally mild, dry Northwest flow covered the Falklands for the early part of the week keeping daytime temperatures in the low to middle 20s. Towards the end of the week  winds turned a little more southwest and temperatures lowered into the teens.

Laugh and the world laughs with you - Ella Wheeler Wilcox

On my way to the Doctors the other day I went into the Pet Shop,  The pet shop owner told me that only one of the budgies was for sale. I asked him why and he told me the others were all on higher perches. At the doctors I rushed in to the doctor's office and shouted, "Doctor! I think I'm shrinking!" The doctor calmly responded, "Now, settle down; you'll just have to be a little patient." When the doctor did see me he said, "I'm going to chop off the bottom of one of your trouser legs and put it in a library." I thought, "That'll be turn-up for the books."
