Ascension : Message From Abroad
Submitted by The Islander (Islander Internet Editor) 15.01.2009 (Article Archived on 29.01.2009)

I was stationed at Ascension (advanced base idle, navy 316) during world war two and I'd love to get some info on our presence if any available.

I was stationed at Ascension (advanced base idle, navy 316) during world war two and I'd love to get some info on our presence if any available. Perhaps there are navy personnel stationed there at the same time to correspond with. I have many fond memories of my stay at Ascension especially the turtles and Green Mountain and hopping around the island in my jeep to find a movie that I had not yet seen.

Kind regards
