Ascension : Two Boats Club Children’s Christmas Party
Submitted by The Islander (Islander Internet Editor) 08.01.2009 (Article Archived on 22.01.2009)

On Sunday 21st December just over 100 children enjoyed the fun and goodies of the children’s party.

Cheers and expectations greeted Father Christmas as he arrived on his diesel-powered sledge.  Compared to where he had travelled from, the weather on Ascension was sweltering but Santa Claus satisfied the hopes of each child with a present and chocolate stocking before moving on.

Special thank you to the following people for helping to make the Children’s Christmas Party a huge success: Roy Haley, David Fowler,  Brian Essex, Sgt David Sismey and Santa’s helpers: Laura Stroud, Gemma Yon and Christiane Anthony; also  Soo Mathews, Schmichael, Tyler and Alex Benjamin for pumping up the balloons; to Sam Leo, Ethel Constantine, Cheryl Anthony, Laura Stroud, Clare Duncan, and Kate Trodd for helping with the scrumptious food; to Cheryl and Clare for entertaining everyone with the games  and to all the Mums and Dads who stayed behind to help tidy up.

Thank you also to ‘Pulse’ for rounding off the day with their exceptional Oldies and Xmas Goldies music.

NEW YEAR’S EVE PARTY

Thank you to Sam and Kate for assisting with the Buffett and to Ben, Ashley, Schmichael and Tyler for pumping up all those balloons for the New Year’s Eve Party.
