Ascension : ASCENSION ISLAND STRATEGIC PLAN
Submitted by The Islander (Gavin Yon) 25.12.2003 (Article Archived on 08.01.2004)

The Island Council spent much of its early months working on the creation of a 5+ year strategic plan which would guide the development of the island through an important period in its development.

The Island Council spent much of its early months working on the creation of a 5+ year strategic plan which would guide the development of the island through an important period in its development.

Attached to this edition of the Islander is a synopsis of that plan. It shows the broad strategic objectives that the Council has set in each of the areas where the Council believes that a strategic intervention is needed.

Having created the Strategic Plan the Island Council is now set to embark on the second phase of the planning process – Public Consultation.

Early in the New Year the Council will set date for a public meeting at which the content of the strategic plan can be discussed. Everyone who lives on Ascension is welcome and everyone will have an opportunity to make their views known.

So please take some time to have a look at the information provided in the attached information sheet. Additional copies will be available from the Post Office and the Police Station and the Islander Building immediately after Christmas.

Very Best Wishes for the Christmas Season.
