ASCENSION: A mainly dry week with some sunshine especially on Friday and over the weekend.

ST. HELENA: A lot of cloud last week with some showers, especially on Friday. The weekend saw some thunderstorms pass over the Island.

UK: A cold week in the UK with a real wintry mixture of frost, freezing fog which was slow to clear on some days, some rain and sleet and snow. In fact parts of the north, especially high ground, had considerable amounts of lying snow. Leeds Bradford airport was closed all day on Thursday due to lying snow.

FALKLANDS: A touch of summer last week with plenty of sunshine and just a few light showers.

Did anyone see the “smiley” face in the sky over the weekend of 29/30 November. Venus, Jupiter and a crescent moon were unusually arranged to give the impression of a smiley face in the sky.  Some interesting pictures can be seen at www.news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_pictures/7759643.stm. Enjoy !!
