Ascension : PUBLIC NOTICES - VHF Radio Frequecies and Clearances and Amateur Radio Licences

The public are reminded that all frequencies and channels for VHF radios must be cleared with the Administrator to avoid disruption to channels and frequencies already in operation on Ascension.

Operating without permission can result in blocking working channels of other users and in particular could make it impossible for someone to make an emergency call.  It is therefore very important that your frequencies and channels you wish to operate on are approved before you operate a VHF radio.

AMATEUR RADIO LICENCES

Amateur radio operators on Ascension are reminded that the Licence issued is an annual one for a calendar year i.e. January to December.   Those who have not yet paid their annual fee for 2008 should do so before the 31 December 2008.   The licence fee for 2009 should be paid by 31 January 2009.
