Ascension : The Dew Pond Run
Submitted by The Islander (Ascension Island Government) 06.11.2008 (Article Archived on 20.11.2008)

On Sunday 2nd November the Dew Pond Run was held. 86 runners took place on the long run from the Turtle Ponds all the way to the Dew Pond at the peak of Green Mountain.

Steve Muggeridge (Pictured Above) arrived first at the top in a time of 1hr 08.55.

A great turnout of 86 participants + 3 dogs from the Turtle Pond to the Dew Pond along with a further 36 parents, friends and kids from the bottom of the mountain made for a smashing morning and a real feel of community fun.

Congratulations to all who completed the nearly 7 mile and 2817` course and especially :-

Steve Muggeridge – 1st Place

Jonathan Mawer – 2nd Place

Neil Lawrence – 3rd Place

Yanick Low Hong – (1st - 11-16 year old)

Amanda Baker – 1st Lady

Collin Low Hong (Youngest Competitor)

Adam Fowler – 1st from bottom of Mountain under 11

A very big thanks to all those who helped out in various ways to make it a success.
