Ascension : Two Boats School Sports Day Report
Submitted by The Islander (Soo Matthews) 06.11.2008 (Article Archived on 20.11.2008)

Sunday 26th October saw Two Boats School and families up at the field for the annual sports day.

With a cloudy, overcast sky events got underway with the cheerleading dances from each house.  The judges found it very hard to choose between the teams as they all gave very good performances and it was a close call.  Huxley won with Beale and Connelly joint second.

From there the day was a whirl of events and activities.  There were some close calls for all the time keepers and fantastic performances from all the children.

When it came to a slight lull in events support was soon drummed up by Johnny for a couple of parents races!  Fantastic wins by Johnny Stroud and Danielle Yon (although this was contested by Kay who felt she won!  Which she did for the 50m race!)

The parents then took part in a tug of war with fierce competition.  Hopefully not too many bones were broken or muscles pulled.

The finale of the day was the house Tug of War event.  Beale parents got right behind, beside and almost on top of their team with great advice on how to get the better of the others.  Huxley proved themselves the kings and queens of the tug of war.

There are many thanks to give for making the day such a huge success.

As so much goes on behind the scenes I have probably missed someone off - many apologies if I have it is not intentional.
