A grand crowd turned up at Command Hill to be spooked on our Halloween hash.  The costumes were fabulous and there was pumpkin to eat along the way if we got lost or hungry (not that Lanky or Nip n Suck would have appreciated that!).  Lanky promised us a quick short hash with few hazards (forgot the falling rocks!).

The on-on was down the road and then off to the left for the WATs and along to the bottom of the hill for the FRBs.  Some WATs had to be called back as they had followed the FRBs path.  The first circle check was at the foot of the hill and gave the FRBS a chance to catch up with the WATs and catch their breath.

From here it was around the foot of Command Hill and along to the caves.  What wonders awaited there!  Switch Hitter and Who’s Your Daddy? Were first down the caves and narrowly missed being knocked out by a rather large rock one of the younger hashers had dislodged as they tried to decide whether to risk the spooky darkness or not!  Luckily Itchy Ring’s shout saved the day and the hapless pair dodged danger.

Slowly courage was found and almost everyone ventured into Ascension Island’s latest unknown tourist hot spot!  Yes our very own sauna!  Boy was it hot down there.  Maybe it was those devils heating things up for us.  We made ourselves comfortable and storied of spookiness and eeriness were read out with the children taking their fair turns and reading aloud to each other (well done guys – I’m proud of you says Headmistress).  Lanky produced a lovely carrier bag of tasty ghoulish – sorry goodies for us all to pick from.

A soggy 20mins later we climbed back out of the caves knowing where to come for our next sauna session!  The on-on was then up-up the hill and up and up until we reached the top of Command Hill and all the tasty goodies.

The circle of friendship was drawn and Soraye stepped in first.  Soraye kept the name in the family and became Tiny Beaver.  Next up was Will.  With his break dancing there were lots of names suggested – Break it Like Will, Will E Break? To name a couple but in the end he was named Little Will.  Enough said!  Welcome to the hash!

Many thanks to Lanky for a great fun hash with the right degree of spookiness for halloween.

Next week Hut on road to North East Bay

Hares Fugitive and Stinky Nuts or was it Little Will?  Please bring a plate of eats to share with everyone.

As the next hash is just before Armistice Day can everyone please wear either a poppy or a red tee shirt as a sign of remembrance.
