On 30 September 2008, the following candidates were nominated to stand for election:

On 30 September 2008, the following candidates were nominated to stand for election:


 


Georgina A Benjamin               Helen Close


Suzanne Edwards                      Keturah V George


Cyril K Leo                                  Ann Miller


Howard H Peters                     Larry Poultney                     



Eight candidates have been nominated, only Seven are required for the Island Council.


 


You can vote for one candidate or for any number of candidates up to a maximum of seven.


 


Election Day will be on Tuesday 14th October 2008.


 


Polling Stations will be open from 8am to 8pm at the following venues: Mountain View Club, Travellers Hill; Library at USAF Base; Saints Club Cinema Hall, Georgetown; and Two Boats Club.


 


 


When Polling Stations close at 8:00 pm, the sealed ballot boxes will be transported to the Court House, Georgetown, where the official count will take place to determine membership of the Island Council for the next two years


 


Under the Elections Regulations 2008 (Section 10(1)) provision is made therein for electors to apply for a proxy vote.  Proxy Forms (Form C) can be obtained from the Administrator’s Office.
