Ascension : Police Activity Report

During the period Monday 1st September to Monday 8th September 2008, the Ascension Police Detachment dealt with a total of eight reports :-

There were three Road Traffic Accidents, the first occurred on Friday 5th September at Hospital Hill, whereby a dog had rushed out into the path of an oncoming vehicle.  As a result the dog suffered minor injury.  The owner of the dog was seen and given a verbal warning for the offence of failing to keep the dog under proper control.

 

On Sunday 7th September an accident occurred in the Travellers Hill area, whereby the vehicle had left the road.  There were no personal injury, but the vehicle sustained minor damage. 

 

On Monday 8th September an accident occurred in Two Boats Village, whereby the vehicle collided with a retaining wall. There were no personal injury, but the vehicle sustained minor damage.  The driver was given a verbal warning for driving a motor vehicle on a road without due care and attention.

 

As a result of these three accidents only one driver was suspected to be driving a motor vehicle on a road whilst Over the Prescribe Limit, he was arrested and later charged with the offence and bailed to appear in Court in due course.

 

During the same period, four drivers were stopped by Police for the offence of Exceeding the Speed Limit, resulting in the appropriate action being taken.

 

There was also a Request for Police Assistance.
