Ascension : New's From St. Marys
Submitted by The Islander (Clive & Jenny Duncan) 11.09.2008 (Article Archived on 25.09.2008)

Congratulations to Aaron, Danielle and James who was confirmed by Bishop John last Sunday morning.

Congratulations to Aaron, Danielle and James who was confirmed by Bishop John last Sunday morning.  It was good to have Pete Edwards, the father of James and Prudence Peters, Aaron’s mother, reading the lessons.

Thank you Jenny for the lovely meal you prepared for the Quiet Day in the Vicarage on Saturday and the refreshments on Sunday morning.

There is someone else I would like to express my thanks and appreciation to, and that is Clarence Roberts, who has served as a Lay Minister and Church Warden  in St. Mary’s Parish over the past months.  Clarence also played in the band for our Songs of Praise.  We shall miss him as he never hesitated in getting himself involved with matters relating to the Church.

As Clarence and his family prepare to return to St. Helena we pray that God will continue to richly bless them in every way.

Have a pleasant week and look forward to seeing you on Sunday for the Battle of Britain Service.

 Canon Clive.
