We would like to welcome you all back to another school year.
Staff Changes
This term we welcome
Mrs Alison Birkett – Year 3/4
Ms Kate Trodd – Year 5/6
Mr David Clarke – ICT, Science
Mr Steve Tobin – Maths, Business Studies, PE
Ms Trodd will be travelling to the UK for her sister’s wedding. She will return on 18th September. During this time her class will be covered by Ms Evans and myself.
We still have a vacancy for a Spanish teacher. This post is being advertised. In the meantime Ms Evans will teach year 5 and 6 Spanish and I will continue to teach secondary Spanish. For years 7 - 9 we have reduced the time to 1 hour a week until such time as we make an appointment.
Building Works
We have kept quite a few people busy here over the summer with various projects. Many thanks go to AIG Works departments for their work around the school. This has included a lot of painting, new A/Cs, work to the car park to sort out flooding and the new fence in the middle school area. The gate in this area will be open until 8:45am and from 2:30pm for the children and parents to use to access the playground area.
Many thanks also go to Gary Robinson from Cable and Wireless who has been busy installing a new server for our computer network and setting up our new
colour laser printers. All of this important work will enable our computer network to run more efficiently.
GCSE/IGCSE Results
Congratulations go to all of the year 11 students for their achievements in their GCSE exams. Three students have gone to Chichester College and are studying a wide variety of courses. We will keep you updated with their progress and wish them all well in their studies.
Detailed SATs and GCSE exams analysis will be published shortly.
Our congratulations go to Mashay Yon and William Ellick who will be starting University this year. They have worked very hard and this is a major achievement.
Book Bags
We have a limited supply of book bags for Primary school available from the school office. They cost £3.50 each.
Old Cards
If you have any old birthday cards or Christmas cards that you no longer wish to keep can you please donate them to school. The Nursery can use them to practise using their cutting skills.
Evening Classes
Please see our separate advert for evening classes which will commence the week beginning 22nd September.
If you have any questions or queries about anything related to the start of the school year please feel free to contact us at school and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
