It was a hash with a difference this week as the Major explained that it was and wasn’t long and had 9 circle checks and one bar check. It was going to be longer but now there was a mini bus kindly provided which should bring us back up at the end to pick up our cars. Then the runners headed off with Whisky Chaser into the hills and the walkers marched briskly off down the road heading for the sea. But it was only a five minute walk until the first check which looked like a bar check already! A Bar check ….but not as we know it. Hidden behind the bushes was a cool box packed full with ice, beers and softies for us all to get stuck into. The runners soon pulled up and joined the drinking. But it was not to be for too long, the on on was called and it was down, down, down, down, down, and down some more through the valley of rocks towards north east bay. With cries from the Major for the gentlemen to assist the ladies over the boulders, it was down, down and down some more. We were all hoping that what the Major said about the mini bus at the end was true as the same walk in the opposite direction could have been too much!  But we soon ended up walking across the sands at north east bay and into the IDL beach hut for a well earned rest and down to some hash business.

There was and there wasn’t hash business. There was going to be a naming and then there wasn’t a naming but somehow Aerial became Little Grease Lightening without a drop of water or words. Bloodsucker and Drop ‘Em Blossom kindly volunteered to lay next week’s hash, leaving us all to sit back and enjoy some of the Major’s beautiful curry, the company and the scene. Thanks to IDL for the use of the hut and to the Major and Whisky Chaser for a memorable hash.

Next week: Meet at the turn off to the Pines.

Hares: Bloodsucker and Drop ‘Em Blossom.

Time: 4.30pm

Please bring a plate.
