Ascension : News From St Mary's Church
Submitted by The Islander (Clive & Jenny Duncan) 21.08.2008 (Article Archived on 04.09.2008)

It is just two weeks away when we will have our Bishop back with us for approximately two weeks in September.

As usual he will be staying in the Vicarage and anyone who would like to meet him is most welcome.

Instead of the usual Family Service for the first Sunday in September, Bishop John will celebrate Mass and confirmation at 10.30 am.  We trust that you will be able to attend this service and support the two candidates and their parents with your prayers

On Sunday 14 September Bishop John will be preaching at the Battle of Britain service.  Again you are all welcome.

Have a pleasant and enjoyable week.

Canon Clive

Thanks to……

Johnny and his newly formed band, Atlantic Rock, for providing the music for the dance in the Saints Club last Saturday evening and DJ Austin.  The Church Council, Elaine and her helpers for the food, Alan Stevens and all others who assisted in anyway and the Club Management for the use of their hall.  We are most to all who attended and supported this fund raiser for St. Mary’s Parish
