Ascension : A Sisters Peak Send Off to Joe Pesta
Submitted by The Islander (Islander Internet Editor) 07.08.2008 (Article Archived on 21.08.2008)

Joe Pesta, a machinist for L3-Communications, died while hiking up Cross Hill on Monday July 21, 2008.

Joe had been coming to Ascension TDY for about six years.  He was an avid hiker and you will see his name in many of the Letterbox sites register.  He also loved to fish on Ascension.  Joe enjoyed hashing and the hash knew him as “Revolting”.  Joe is survived by his wife Karen and his best buddy “Checkers”, his beagle.  Joe’s hash boots were laid to rest on Sister’s Peak on July 31st.  Goodbye friend, co-worker and fellow hasher
