On a soggy Saturday afternoon it was a good crowd who had turned out for Irish Whisky’s last hash.  Can’t believe it’s here.  Who’ll help with name writing now???

The walkers and runners had 2 very different routes this week.  Two Cocks led the runners off, off, up, up the hill, hill to the chicken farm.  They then went on a rather circuitous route to end up back where they started from at least 2 hours later!  They went down Breakneck Valley and ended up by Scout’s Camp and then the Pines, then the Nasa Road, then somewhere else, then the trail the walkers had been on and then eventually back to the Red Lion.  To sum it up more poetically Gumby Two Scoops later said, ‘I have no idea – it was a long run!’ before collapsing in a heap with some lovely pineapple cake!

The walkers had a more sedate hash.  Being led by Fall Guy and Pyromanic it was certainly sedate as they gently pushed the bushes aside afraid of prickles and scratches.  Mutley however had other ideas.  He was all for forging ahead and did so several times almost knocking others off their feet.  The route taken was Kronks and then Ruperts – or is it Ruperts then Kronks?

It was the top path first all the way to the soggy bottom.  A bit slippy in places but a grand stretch of the legs.  Then we headed off to Banana Bridge.  Some sneaky devils took a short cut and missed a corner path.  Luckily the ladder was in tact and the steps nice and clear.  Some went down backwards and others front wards.  All made it safely down.  That just left us to get up the other side.  Not too bad as long as your legs could stretch!

From there it was the up, up, up of Ruperts back to the Red Lion.  It was a wet and blustery day but a very refreshing walk. Well done to Bungalow Bill and Two Cocks for a great hash.

The group gathered at the picnic benches and quickly ate all the treats.  Then the circle of friendship was drawn and some sorry souls welcomed to the hash. Kelli became Yankee, Madison – Unsinkable (as she has a passion for the Titanic), Tyler – Pain in the Hash, Kennedy – Cactus Butt.  Drazen was next up and after a few names were thrown around we settled on Desperate Dan.

Irish Whisky’s boots were later burned to say farewell and to keep everyone warm.  We will miss you and your lovely family and the weekly hash won’t seem the same without you.  We all wish you lots of happiness in your new adventures in sunny Cyprus where hopefully you’ll meet up with some other ex Ascension hashers.  Take care!

Next Week –

Hares – Buford T and Guest

From – Butt Crater

Please bring a plate of eats to share

Left – Winnie promises hand on heart she will meet up with Steve in the UK!!!
