Ascension : Farewell to Ellick Family & Country Boys Band
Submitted by The Islander (Islander Internet Editor) 17.07.2008 (Article Archived on 31.07.2008)

Farewell to Ellick family who will be departing Ascension next week, and The Country Boys & guest singer Anna Henry in fine form last Friday night at the VT Mess

Social Evening at VT Mess

VT Mess came alive on Friday night with a social evening for members and guests, organised by Phyllis and Peter Corker, Chief Cook and Chief Barman respectively.  The ‘Country Boys’ together with guest singer Anna Henry were in good form and entertained throughout the evening with some ‘good ole country music’ and some ‘rock n’ roll‘, thrown in for good measure.

Peter kept the drinks flowing whilst Phyllis was busy in the kitchen preparing a tasty curry and rice for all.  Our Croatian Friends appeared a bit shy at first but soon became relaxed and were strutting it out on the dance floor along with everyone else.

The evening came to a close in the small hours of the morning and as they say in higher places “a good night was had by all”.
