The St Helena Government has awarded £50 bonuses to 99 members of staff. This includes all persons who were involved in carrying out, in adverse weather conditions, the recent clean-up operations necessitated by the flash floods.

While all of these people will be entitled to overtime or time off in lieu, Dr Corinda Essex, Acting Chief Secretary said “SHG is recognising these people since they were prepared to work additional hours to help out in a crisis. The St Helena Government is extremely grateful to them for this.”

Persons receiving the bonus are from the Agriculture and Natural Resources Department, the Police and Fire and Rescue Service, and the Public Works and Services Department.
