I have vivid memories of the last competition in which Rich was involved before he left here . It was on a Sunday morning and nearing the end of the 10.30 am Divine Service Rich appeared at the church door all excited that the fishing boats had arrived earlier than planned and needed help at the pier head. What stands out most in my mind on this occasion was the fact that fish catches had been poor over the previous weeks but on that particular Sunday, God was good, the boats returned with bumper catches which was a wonderful sight to behold.
Last Saturday and Sunday saw another fishing competition organised by Noddy which attracted some fifty one persons . It was wonderful to see so many people on both days to witness the weigh in and on Sunday for the fish fry in front of the Turtle Nest Car Park, the bar facilities was arranged by Cedric and Sylvia.Henry.
Our thanks to Noddy for the beautiful trophies, he competitors, Brian (Dutch) and his team for the great fish fry and Cedric for the part he played in providing the cool liquids and the music. Last and by no means least the Church Council for their assistance and all others who helped in any way which is very much appreciated.
May God bless each and everyone.
Have a pleasant week.
Canon Clive.
