The Island continues to remain peaceful and quiet from a Policing point of view
The Island continues to remain peaceful and quiet from a Policing point of view, the peace and quietness I am sure we all enjoy. I am pleased to report that from the 1st October to date we have dealt with thirteen non crime related reports. That said, one must not become complacent with our valuables by leaving them insecure, that makes it a temptation to the less fortunate.
At the beginning of this financial year 1st April we set realistic targets in relation to crime and road traffic accidents. The targets set were not to record no more than twenty seven crimes and no more than twenty road traffic accidents. To date we have received twelve crime reports and fourteen road traffic accidents. With a proactive approach to some of the problems of the island we hope to reduce next year’s targets further.
As you are aware Miss Williams of Georgetown worked as a Special Police Constable; Kirstine has held this post for the past fifteen months. Unfortunately Kirstine will resign from the post at the end of November I would like to take this opportunity to thank her for the support she has given the department and join my colleagues in wishing her the best of luck for the future.
Have a pleasant week
