Ascension : News from St Marys Church
Submitted by The Islander (Clive & Jenny Duncan) 19.06.2008 (Article Archived on 03.07.2008)

Perhaps some of us can recall when we were young our parents giving us a message to deliver to the next door neighbour or sent us on some other errand.

They knew we could be trusted with the task they had assigned to us at this early age.

The twelve Jesus called to carry on with his work when he left this earth were ordinary men. They  had no wealth, no academic background  and no social position but Jesus knew he could  trust them with the mission he was about to give them.

Jesus still calls men and women today whom he can trust with the same task as he did the original twelve and will always be there to help us as we carry on with his mission.

Love and Prayers

Canon Clive.
