“VC1” got of to a flyer. “Jeremy Constantine” saw his speculative shot from the left wing beat 2 Two Boats Club defenders and the Goal Keeper for the first goal.

“VC1” got of to a flyer. “Jeremy Constantine” saw his speculative shot from the left wing beat 2 Two Boats Club defenders and the Goal Keeper for the first goal.  “VC”1 went 2 goals up when “JJ Buckley” collected the ball outside the 2 boats penalty area and created space to fire a shot which beat the Keeper and Send “VC1” 2 goals ahead.  “2 Boats club” settled into the game and made sure “VC1” didn’t extend their lead.

2 boats started the second half looking for a way back into the game.  They were gifted a goal when “VC1” Capitan “Anthony George” playing in Goal fumbled a free kick and “Chris George” was on hand to finish the loose ball.  2 boats continued to attack and levelled through “Paul Fuller”.  The ball broke to Paul on the right of the “VC1” Penalty area and he fired home a powerful shot to bring the score level.  With the scores level and 10 mins to go, both teams needed a match winner.  For “VC1” it came by way of “Cardi Green”, he picked up a ball just outside the 2 boats penalty area and turned into space and let go a curling shot that beat the 2 boats keeper and gave “VC1” all three points.  Final Score “VC1” 3 “Two Boats club” 2.

NAAFI 2 v VC2

It was steady start to the game with both teams spreading the ball looking to break each other down.  “NAAFI 2” were first to score.  “Darrel Punch” rose above everybody else in the “VC2” penalty area to head “NAAFI 2” into the lead.  “NAAFI 2” took advantage of the momentum they had built up and found themselves 2 goals up when Man of the Match “Steve Muggridge” ran onto a through ball and fired his shot beyond the “VC2” keeper to extend his teams lead.  “VC2” dug deep and surged forward looking for a way back into match.  Daniel Yon picked up the ball in the Midfield and his brilliant through ball sent Ashley Lawrence clear for VC2’s first goal.  Inspired by their first goal, VC2 continued to push forward. They equalised when “Dave Bagley” stroked home a cross from the right.

The second half began in a similar way to the first, with neither team creating any clear goal scoring opportunities.  NAAFI 2 were the first to score in the second half.  Steve Muggridge found space on the left side of the VC2 Penalty area and shot into the far corner to score NAAFI 2’s third goal.  The goal turned out to be a winner as NAAFI 2 defended well and prevented VC2 from getting back into the game.  Final Score “VC2” 2 “NAAFI 2” 3
