Ascension : PUBLIC NOTICE - Land and Business Policy

During the public consultation on the new Land and Business Policy, a number of constructive comments were received, as a result of which the draft has undergone a series of minor amendments.

A copy of the final version can be obtained on request from AIG Administration Department.

The Policy is now ready for implementation. This will be achieved through the enactment of a short piece of legislation, called the Land (Ascension) Ordinance 2008, which will provide for the establishment of the necessary processes for the consistent and transparent control, occupancy and use of land on Ascension, i.e. the Policy. The new Ordinance will be signed by the Acting Governor very shortly.

Thereafter AIG Administration Department will contact organisations and businesses on the island to take forward the practical requirements of the policy
