After a few wrong turns, most of the hashers managed to find their way to the bomb dump, thanks to Mal waiting at the side of the road directing us in!!  The afternoon was nice and hot, as usual, and the walkers were assured of a nice, easy one, but do we believe???  During the hash huddle we were warned of the usual, especially the chance of falling over a sharp incline!!

The FRBs took off in the opposite direction with 100 Watt in the lead, while the WATs fallowed Mildew.  The comment was made that Mildew & Bloodsucker are seldom seen at the front of the pack. Off we went over a bit of rough ground, and then a little easier track.  We caught on pretty quick that this situation wouldn’t last when we saw Mildew scanning the hillside for hash!  Sure enough, up we went to the crest of the crater.

We continued to climb, right to the cairn at the top (The Major’s Nipple Hill!??!!).  Finally, we had a chance to catch our breath at one of the only two circle checks we’d been promised.  Far in the distance, at the top of Table Crater, we spotted the FRBs!  Seems they had an extra crater to climb!!

The next bit for the WATs was a slide right down the side of the mountain!  Everyone found their own way down, and there were some interesting moves as folks tried to avoid tumbles, not altogether successfully, I might add!

When we hit the bottom, it was on-on to the right on a nice easy track.  We came to a turn in the road, and it got a little interesting.  Although the blobs of hash indicated a turn, there didn’t seem to be any more hash in that direction, so we headed the other way, but Mildew decided that didn’t look right.  A little bit of back & forth, and we finally found the right way and off we went up the hill.  We passed remnants of old vehicles, huts, drums and a variety of other debris.

About this point the FRBs caught up (and passed us).  They had also been to the top of Nipple Hill & had their own slide down the side.  We went around the hill, and then into a gully.  Although a few of the FRBs disappeared over the rocky embankment, most of us stuck to the hash, and proceeded down the gully.  An interesting trek, more debris and we finally found ourselves back at the dump.  The FRBs had already arrived back and were refreshing themselves!

A bit of hash business ensued.  Since several of the Coverdale clan had recently been renamed, and they were now becoming the “Nuts”, it was felt that Pumpy Pants also needed a suitable new name.  Thanks to Drive Me Nuts (didn’t she do this last time??) he will now be known as Stinky Nuts!  Poor Plain Nuts managed to get himself a good soaking as well.  Simon, the RAF returnee was next into the circle.  Several names were bandied about, with Atio being the final choice!

The party continued as always.  A great hash 100 Watt and Mildew, despite a few misdirections along the way.

Next Week:  NOTE THE CHANGE!!!  Garden Cottage

Hares:  Chief Bald Eagle & his tribe

Please bring a plate!!
