Ascension : One Boat Golf Club News
Submitted by The Islander (Nathan Prince) 14.02.2008 (Article Archived on 28.02.2008)

Last sunday the Golf Club held a three person Texas Scramble, seven teams turned out for this competition although the first nine holes were played in very hot and humid conditions,

which was good news for the club as we sold a lot of water this week, the players all seemed to come through the heat well, although I must admit I felt like I had played 36 holes, must be an age thing. Anyhow getting on with the result, the two ball pool of 21 balls was shared by 3 teams, myself, Paul Edwards, LynLeo, also Fred Bennett, Alan Bedwell and Gary Thomas and last but not least Dover, Patrick Moyce and Dale Josias. The overall competition was closely contested, Dover and his team scoring a gross 60, stableford 47pts, but out in front on the day 2 teams scored 49pts stableford, losing out on the back nine countback were, Brian Henry, Damien O,bey and Andrew Williams, the winners outright were Lawson Henry, Peter Cundy, Dave Wright, well played to all and thanks for turning out, this was follwed by presentation of prizes and a bite to eat,

followed by a few soft drinks all round.

Next competition will be the February Monthly Medal, this will take place on Feb 24th at 0830hrs, sign up list

will be displayed in the clubhouse, future events to look forward to are the Champion of Champions,

a Medalford all in March, see you all soon.
